Dam Construction Impacts at LLELA
Construction associated with the $150 million Lewisville Dam Safety Modification project is moving forward and is beginning to impact LLELA visitors. The dam continues to function as intended providing flood risk management, water supply, environmental stewardship and recreational opportunities.
Most programs and activities will continue with minor modifications.
The second and third contracts are for work on the auxiliary spillway at the far-east end of the dam, and for restoration of areas associated with the first two contracts. Both of these projects are expected to be completed in early 2027.
Additional Lewisville Dam Safety Modification Project information is available at the US Army Corps of Engineers Fort Worth District web site.
