• Can I camp out at LLELA?

  Yes, LLELA has 9 individual campsites and on group campsites that can accommodate up to 100 campers. All campsites are primitive.
  
  Reservation Fees:
  Individual Campsites - $10/night, plus vehicle entry fee
  
  Group Campsite:
  $50/night for 25-50 people, plus $5/vehicle
  $75/night for 51-75 people, plus $5/vehicle
  $100/night for 76-100 people, plus $5/vehicle
  

• Can I do a tour at LLELA?

  Yes, please reach out to our staff to schedule a tour or guided program.
  

• Can I fish at LLELA?

  Yes, you can fish at the Lewisville Lake Environmental Learning Area (LLELA). Fishing is allowed in designated areas, primarily along the Elm Fork of the Trinity River. Please follow all rules and regulations, including having a valid fishing license.
  

• Can I hike at LLELA?

  Yes, you can hike at LLELA. The Lewisville Lake Environmental Learning Area offers more than 6 miles of trails for hiking, providing opportunities to explore various habitats, including prairies, forests, and wetlands. Use this link to learn more about our hiking trails.
  

• Can I kayak or canoe at LLELA?

  Yes, you can kayak or canoe at LLELA. The Lewisville Lake Environmental Learning Area offers paddling opportunities on the Elm Fork of the Trinity River and Beaver Pond. Paddlers can enjoy the scenic views and diverse wildlife along these waterways. Always wear a life jacket, and be sure to check on current paddling conditions before heading to LLELA, as these activities are restricted at times due to water conditions. • Can I leave and come back in on the same pass?

  Yes, but you have to wait in line again.
  

• Can I take my dog to LLELA?

  No, pets are not allowed at LLELA.
  

• Can I throw a party at LLELA?

  Yes, the Cicada Pavilion is available to rent for your next outdoor event. The rental fee is $50.
  

• How can I volunteer to help the City of Lewisville stay beautiful?

  City of Lewisville appreciates residents helping to keep Lewisville beautiful. Grabbing a bag or two before walking out the door is a huge help. Pick up litter along the trail or in the park.
  
  The Parks and Recreation Department offers a variety of volunteer opportunities at LLELA and Thrive. A schedule for volunteer workdays at LLELA can be found at llela.org. In addition, Thrive Ambassadors help team members provide tours of Thrive, help at the front desk and assist with special events. Learn more at lewisvillethrive.com.

• Is LLELA considered a state park? Can I use my state park pass to enter?

  LLELA is not a state park and you cannot use a state park pass to enter.
  

• Is there a fee to enter LLELA?

  Yes, most vehicles are charged $5 to enter the park. Vans or buses carrying 10-25 passengers are charged $20, and any vehicle carrying more than 25 passengers will be charged $30. Annual passes are available for $65. Use this link to purchase an annual pass to LLELA.
