LLELA Trail Map

The nine primitive campgrounds are open for use 7 days/week. Complete primitive camping information . Sites are available on a first come first served basis and can be reserved upon entry at the gatehouse. 

The Group Campground is available for use by groups of 25 or more people (youth groups and other organizations). This is by reservation only; contact 972.219.3550. 

• Beaver Pond Paddling Trail: Closed

• Boating on the Elm Fork of the Trinity River, LLELA outlet: If your transportation is left at LLELA, you must return to retrieve it 30 minutes before closing. Winter hours: 7 a.m. - 5 p.m. (Nov. 1 - Feb. 28) Summer hours: 7 a.m. - 7 p.m. (March 1 - Oct. 31)

• As you plan your trip down the Trinity, please check the current water flow rate at the US Army Corps of Engineers' web site. If the water release rate is higher than 600 cfs, the river is recommended only for paddlers with swift water experience. It is your responsibility to determine whether your skills match the current river conditions before you decide to launch. Above 3,000 cfs, the river is closed to all boating activity. Please use caution. There are many strainers, downed trees, and other hazards along the Elm Fork.
