Our home school classes are for students in K-8th grade. $15 per class, or enroll your child in all four classes for $50.

Registration is required. Registration can be completed 100% online in the Play Lewisville Store in Amilia.  Registration for Fall 2024 will open on August 8.

Students in each class will participate in hands-on outdoor activities related to the day's theme. Each student should bring a refillable water bottle, sack lunch and a snack.  Please wear closed-toe shoes and long pants. In the event of rain, classes may be rescheduled.

Parents may choose to attend with their students, or may drop students off. Younger siblings are welcome, but must be adequately supervised by a parent during class time. There are separate classes for K-2nd graders, 3rd-5th graders, and 6th-8th graders.

Amazing Adaptations 

Join us at LLELA Nature preserve on an exploration into the amazing ecosystems we call home.  Register for one or all of the classes in this four-part series!. Each class will include hands-on activities, story time, and a nature walk. 

There are separate sessions for K-2nd and 3rd-5th grades.

  • October 31: Fill the Bill
  • November 14: Amazing Animal Senses

6th-8th grade, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. each session.

Field Study Techniques

Ever wonder what it takes to manage a preserve as big as LLELA? Join us on a deep dive into the techniques used by wildlife managers as they gather information and make decisions to preserve and protect the plants and animals that call LLELA home.  Each class will include hands-on activities, scientific data collection, and nature exploration. Register for one or all of the classes in this four-part series!

  • October 3: Plant Survey Techniques

  • October 31: Bird Banding/Migration
  • November 14: Wildlife Manager for a Day
